Kefallonia Prefecture

The Prefecture of Kefalonia is located in the central part of the Ionian Sea and belongs to the region of the Ionian Islands. It consists of the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca as well as many other smaller islets.

There are many beautiful villages to visit: Assos, one of the most beautiful places of the island, Lixouri, the second largest town, Lourdata, a picturesque coastal resort, Poros, a tourist village and central port, Sami, the largest and most popular port of the island and above all Fiskardo, a traditional village of unique beauty.

Ithaca is famous all over the world as the mythical island of Odysseus. It charms visitors with its blue green waters and lush vegetation. It is a small island ideal for families and couples. During the day you can enjoy the warm sun and the beautiful sea, while in the evenings you can walk along the beach promenade of Vathy and have a drink with a magnificent view of the starry sky. Filiatro, Sarakiniko and Ayios Ioannis are some of the most popular beaches of Ithaca.
