Psara Chiou

Psara and Antipsara are located northwest of the island and form a small complex with other neighboring uninhabited islands. Psara, this small dot in the vastness of the Aegean, stood out for the considerable and substantial contribution of the inhabitants in the Revolution of 1821. The massacre of the inhabitants from the Turks three years after the revolution, has touched the hearts of everyone. Gizis’ painting, "The Glory of Psara", and the lyrics of Kalvos will always remind us of the tragedy and the heroic character of the people of Psara.

How to get there:

Psara is connected to Chios all year long. It is also connected to the port of Lavrio twice a week and Mytilene during the summer season. It is also a stopover for the ships from the islands of Syros, Tinos, Kythnos, Ikaria and Samos.
